*inspiration - lissy elle

Lissy Elle is a Canadian photographer I just recently discovered on Flickr.
I am so in love with these images.

I am constantly amazed with the new generation of photographers out there. This is the one time (and possibly ONLY TIME) that I'll say - This digital photography thing has really been amazing.. People have been able to learn a lot faster and progress their learning style so much quicker than in the past.

When I was learning photography, it was on film. It was in the darkroom. You had to wait and have patience. (well, I still do since I still shoot a lot of film)

It makes me think about the way kids learn in general these days. They think and learn more faster and faster where I start to feel more and more of the simpleton. I see myself feeling more and more as my Grandparents must have when we were kids...

*oh these new-fangled ___________*
I'm sure of it.. my poor aging brain just doesn't work that fast anymore.
bring on the oldness!

*everything you've ever wanted to know... day 02

Day 01 — Your favorite song
Day 02 — Your favorite movie

If you have not seen this movie, you are missing out. Granted, I love Cary Grant and pretty much any older film. My english teacher was always pushing us to watch old movies to expand our knowledge of where we came from - I think he just didn't want to teach sometimes... But we saw this twice in his class.

It has that element of slap stick and so many puns. It's brilliant. Death, violence, mental illness and marriage.. Can't get much better than that.

Day 03 — Your favorite television program
Day 04 — Your favorite book
Day 05 — Your favorite quote
Day 06 — Whatever tickles your fancy
Day 07 — A photo that makes you happy
Day 08 — A photo that makes you angry/sad

*a new want... no possibly a need :)

omgomgomgomg...

I had a quick chat to a client today who dropped off some film to be scanned... This is her new baby and her photos were just lovely!! Yep. Me want.

If anyone is feeling generous... you can find it here... Pretty reasonable considering what they are charging for Holgas these days (which just kills me!!) ie. girlfriend goes to NZ to visit her family for the holidays, comes back with scary news - Holgas are over $250 in NZ.... Unreal! I got my first one probably over 10 years ago now and paid all of $20 each. I bought two... how could I resist? I gave one away to a friend, but still have one. I'm heading back to the states in a month or so and am going to check out the Lomo/Holga/Diane details while I'm there. Ahhhh.... Can't wait!!!!
