Another Sunny Weekend!

Life is good here in Wellington. We have lucked out with the weather. It's been simply stunning. Being able to play outside and get that fresh air makes all the difference in the world.

We had a great weekend spent with family and spending the time to catch up on little things ie. tree trimming and mending dresses (that I can actually fit into again!).

Happy 22 months to these little flower children of ours!
Hanging with Opa!

Finally fixing some summery clothes.
And school holidays are now over! Thank goodness! The boys and I were back at Playcentre today. I'm so happy they love it!

Good times.
And happy Monday!

Spring...... Where are you!?

Ok. Seriously. Winter. Go Away!

Everyone is sick. Snotty noses. There is snot everywhere. On my clothes. On the boys bedding. On the couch. On pillows. So gross!

We are ready for warmth.
Sunny days.
New plants to go into the garden.
Come on already!!!

These were all taken on a rare day the temp was above 10C. I think it was 13C!!! Hallelujah! But of course, this was followed by days of 3-4C, wind, hail, rain. What I wouldn't give to let the boys run around outside in tshirts and no gumboots!

Soon. Sooooooooon!!!

Happy Spring!

First BBQ of the season!

Well, the weather was warmer for about 2 days and hopes for an early spring warmed the hearts of all of us here in Wellington, then reality struck. The temp has dropped back down to a lovely 3C overnight. Oh well.

I finally feel like life is slowly coming back into control. Our boys are sleeping through the night, sometimes. But for the first time in 9 months, maybe longer including pregnancy, have I felt somewhat human again! Amazing what 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep can do for the soul...

We've had quite a journey the last year. We've made it this far, amazingly, just by doing what every other new parent in history has done - winging it! Yes, research helped. Books, chatting to other parents, classes (some that paid off in the long run, some not) but most of the time we just go with our gut. You figure out what's best for them as you go. And as we didn't have any children before these two and didn't have ANY prior experience, sometimes you question yourself, which is probably the worst mistake.

But for now, here is to surviving the winter and looking forward to seeing more tulips in our yard along with warmer sunny days. Hello Spring!

Friday night we were able to check out Erin's new Women's Circus venture! It was one of the best one's yet! It's called Ladies Prefer Brunettes (so true) ! It was cheeky funny, very well choreographed and just plain fantastic! I'm not sure when they will be performing it again, but if anyone if interested - below are the details...

So back into another week! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and has a happy Monday!!

A lovely warm weekend...

This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous. If you were not in Melbourne, I pity you. In the nicest way possible of course!

We spent the weekend mowing, weeding, fixing bits and pieces around the yard. Saturday late afternoon spent laying on a giant picnic blanket with J and the boys drinking a couple beers. The sun was shining and warm. The air was still slightly cool... It was perfect.

J, T and B. Oh the chaos...

Thursday night I took down my exhibition. It was sort of a relief, but sort of sad. It all went so quick! I'll be posting some of the images here, but will be selling some originals and prints on Etsy. I'll keep you posted!!

In other news... Don't forget that the 13th of October is Ride to Work Day!!! I've signed up and am trying to get some of my co-workers to get on the bandwagon!! It's taken a promise of cupcakes to possibly get some people on board!

Don't forget to sign up and get on your bike!

Gardening!!

It is OFFICIALLY Spring!

J and I spent a bit of time in the garden this weekend. We were able to overhaul the veggie patch and a couple of beds where we sadly ripped out a heap of capsicum plants. We have so much wonderful compost that we were able to mix in tons with the existing dirt.

(me getting potentially eaten by the boys)

I am really looking forward to getting in the garden this year!!

We have a lot of wild herbs going in the garden as well! Lots of nettle, mint, and of course, dandelion. I made a tea this weekend that was just great! Nettle, calendula with a slice of lemon and teaspoon of manuka honey... So good, so refreshing!

And even though, most of garden is getting slightly over-run by clovers, I love the yellow!

And yes, our Aqauponics system is going really well! J has been taking good care of our little goldfish, which are growing rapidly! We had one death in the family, Dead Goldfish Number One was sick for a couple days, but he is in a better place now...

We have some cos lettuce, broccoli and spinach slowly growing at the moment. I hope these really taken off when the weather warms up a bit!

I hope everyone enjoys the beginning of Spring!
Or the start of Autumn back home!!
Happy Ostara!
